My name is David Forsyth, and I am the Session Clerk at SDMP. This means that I am the Elder who records and keeps the minutes of the meetings of the Kirk Session. The Kirk Session is the group of Elders (local church leaders) who, with the Minister, meet most months to run the church. We do this alongside the Congregational Board. The members of the Kirk Session provide the spiritual oversight of our congregation, while the Congregational Board looks after the very necessary practical matters such as the church building and finance.

I’ve be in and around SDMP for most of my life, so even if I can’t answer a question that you may have, I’ll try and ensure that your query goes to the right person. One of my favourite contributions to the life our congregation is singing in the church choir. So, if you need to find me on a Sunday morning , I’ll be sitting right behind the organist at the front of the church.
